Very nice and no surprise here: three ground ball outs.

The 3 ground balls to start it were awesome. Shows us that power is no match for a good sinkerballer.

Anyone else think Markakis looks a lil evil with the goatee going?

Not home to watch. I did read something about the new facial hair policy, though. Markakis taking advantage?

I'd like to see him throw a few more strikes, but overall, not bad.

Yeah that has been a problem the amount of consistent strikes by our young pitchers over the past seasons.

Great to see Zach with another good outing. Great points here about the need to throw a few more strikes. Still Zach has looked good so far. I'd still start him at AAA, but he is making a case.

Britton was getting on top of the ball a bit too much last night. I think he still has the slight gitters and it is not surprising. I mean my first major spring training was just jaw dropping, even if my nerves were in check. I remember facing Sabo, Eric Davis, and Paul O'Neil in my first outing and a few days later I get to face Sandberg and Dawson.

It is not a shock to the system, but you want to prove you have it against the best. Sometimes you gave a bit too much.

He showed some command problems, but he kept the ball down and looked solid.

If he continues this trend, you cannot send him down. He deserves a crack in that rotation, even at the expense of a few of the more seasoned staff.

I think you have to send him down for at least 2 months for service time reasons. 2 months in the minors now gets you a whole year later when he should be an established pitcher. There's 6 other guys who can hold the fort until June. It's a necessary evil in todays game I think
