Is the AL East still the best division in baseball?

Is the AL East still the best division in baseball?

PostPost #1 by Jordan Tuwiner » September 27th, 2012, 11:13 am

In year's past I think it's been clear that the AL East is the toughest division in baseball. Now, I'm not sure.

I think right now I'd have to go with the AL West.

Each Divison's Average Winning Percentage:
AL EAST- .516%
AL CENTRAL- .470%
AL WEST- .544%
NL EAST- .515%
NL CENTRAL-.475%
NL WEST- .494%
I'd have to say the AL WEST too, but that winning percentage is sure to take a dip when Houston comes in. Central Divisons are terrible. One of these years I think all five AL EAST teams will be at .500 or higher. Boston isn't gonna let their team suck for very long and Toronto was killed with injuries this year but will probably be bad for some time. The AL WESt sure if tough though.

Yeah, AL East isn't even close to the AL West this season.

Boston's injuries and then trading of their best hitter and Toronto's injuries have really softened the division up.

Tampa Bay has taken a step back, too. Of all the teams in the division I can see them as having the best opportunity to improve this winter. Don't be surprised if they trade David Price for at least two solid ML players and a top prospect.
