Seems the O's frequently have these random games where they ground into DPs int 5 or 6 of the innings.

Where has THAT Jake Arrieta been? Thirteen pitches to retire the side and only three were balls, and one of those was a bad call bu the ump.

And theres that Jake Arrieta. I''ll admit, his stuff has looked fantastic at times. On another note, a great team doesn't let bases loaded no outs slip away from them very often. It seems like The Orioles let these situations slip away from them often. Yankees are gonna win, so we'll be 1.5 games out of first.

As clutch as Jones has been this year he STILL has a significant weakness; he just can't lay off low and outside pitches. Particularly when he has two strikes. Last night when we had the bases loaded and NO outs he he checked his swing on the first of those outside pitches BUT you could just see how much he wanted to swing at it. The next pitch was in the EXACT same location and he finally just couldn't help himself and futilely waved at it for strike three. This was a critical point in the game and we ended up not scoring during the inning.

I can understand if Jones just can't hit those pitches, but WHY IN THE WORLD is he swinging at them?!? If you can't hit something lay off it and make the pitcher throw three almost perfect pitches to get you out. If any pitcher can do that then just count it as one of the seven times out of ten ABs that you're going to be out. If he would just lay off of that pitch he would see more of them in his "happy places".

Whenever MASN shows that Bloomberg Sports section-by-section hitting chart on Jones, it reminds me of how he could hit .330 if he learned to take a few pitches.

That would dovetail nicely with simply laying off of the pitches he knows by now he can't handle. It would be a win win situation.
