...and probably will be next year. IMO he has closer ability.

I will probably get lynched for this but I honestly think that the Orioles should seriously consider trading Jim Johnson this winter. He's been inhuman this season, but closer is an over rated position and we can't afford to waste our VERY limited resources on that position. Particularly, since it's a lot easier to create a closer than most people understand. Just look at what the Padres and Rays have done over the years.

Johnson could help us fill a major hole in the lineup and moving him now would allow us to replace him (albeit at a potentially lesser performance level) with a player that isn't going into his arbitration years and we have longer control of. This team has developed closer level relievers from failed starters in the past. Just look at David Hernandez.

I second that. He was really fun to watch in the minors this year and it sucks we only got a little glimmer of what he can do up in the bigs.
