Gonzalez, McLouth, Quintanilla, Machado, and Reynolds all making plays (pitches in Gonzalez' case) every night. Incredible.

Absolutely. McLouth and Quintanilla have been much more valuable than Endy Chavez and the cash traded for Q, that's for sure. Neither were huge moves, but quiet moves than improve the club clearly have a ton of value too.

Also kudos to Buck for going with the hot bat against righties and putting McLouth in the 3 hole.

If you look at almost any winning team you will find these role players (most of the veterans near the end of their career) making major contributions. The trick is finding them and DD and his staff have done that.

Quintanilla plays a very endearing style of baseball. I love the way he grinds out at bats even against lefties and his solid defense. He's quickly become one of my favorite players.
