At 27 (soon to be 28) I don't think the org sees him as a prospect anymore or needs to be protected. He's a fringe player that MIGHT make someone's ML roster someday as a middle reliever.

Egan has fallen trough the cracks. Looked at what he did with the Brewers ( Rule 5 draft ). This player can do the job if
properly honed and given a chance. If that happens is anyones guess.

I'am not sure I understand what you mean. He was taken by the Brewers in the Rule 5 draft and they gave him back because they thought he couldn't stick with them. Just like many other Rule 5 draft picks. He has never pitched well above AA. And what do you mean by your initial post?
