8/9/12 Minor League Gameday Thread

Today's starters:
Norfolk: Jason Berken
Bowie: Rick Zagone
Frederick: Devin Jones
Delmarva: Parker Bridwell
Aberdeen: David Richardson

Devin Jones has been very good since moving into the rotation.
Also I wonder who plays SS now with Manny Machado getting the call-up.

I have to note that he has played SS every time Machado was not in a game. So...there is that.

If Schoop plays a solid SS it could make his trade value higher.

Hardy is still under contract for 2 more years and he isn't going anywhere from short. So maybe Machado is gonna stick at third. Schoop will most likely be ready in 2 years.

No doubt, but he's the best (and maybe only legitimate) prospect we have for 2B. Unless Brian Roberts trips into the Fountain of Youth we're going to need a 2B PDQ.

I know, I was just pointing out a reason why it would make sense to play him at SS. I have lost all faith (and some respect) for Brian Roberts these last few years and have no expectations of him being an everyday player ever again.

Bennett Parry has been promoted from Aberdeen to Frederick.

I would think he most likely takes over the vacancy in the rotation left from Dylan Bundy being promoted.

Long over-due, but I can finally say this now that I have signed up for the site...

You guys do a great job with the site....more specifically the minors stuff. Everything is really organized and it is extremely easy for me to follow along on the minors blog.
