Man I cannot wait to see him with that Cutter added back to the arsenal.

You and me both. To be honest, and I'm right behind home plate, his fastball doesn't seem to have a ton of movement tonight.
At times it has some nice late tail action and others are straighter.

3rd Inning

First out came on a grounder back to Bundy. Threw a change up with great arm action but it didn't have much sink and was harder than you would like. He struck out the second batter on a 92mph fastball and he threw all fastballs to that hitter. 3rd hitter singled and the fourth launched a homerun to center field of a 90mph fastball on the first pitch like he knew it was coming. Struck out the next batter on another nice curveball.

Score is 5 to 4 keys

4th Inning
Velocity was up as high as 94mph
Struck out the first batter he faced on a 92 mph fastball and buried a nice change up on the batter and got a swing and miss before finishing him off with the fastball. Bundy then struck out the next batter on a 92mph fastball. He started the third batter with a nice curve ball, then got a swing and miss on a high and tight fastball and finished him off with another nice curve ball. His stuff was much better this inning and he really mixed his pitches well in the fourth. They really didn't know what was coming.

5th Inning
Velocity was up to 94
First batter showed some good patience and laid off a nice curveball and earned a lead off walk.
Second batter singled on a change up past the diving third baseman. Third batter hit a ground ball to second and they turned a nice double play. The fourth batter swung through some change ups but eventually earned a walk. The fifth batter was Garcia who hit the home run off Bundy earlier flies out to left to end the inning.

That's the Bundy that just makes your jaw drop.

6th Inning
Velocity was as high as 92
He struck the first batter out on a beautiful sequence of fastball, change up, fastball and curveball that was still nice and sharp. After that they took bundy out and put in Erbe.

Erbe looked good and he topped out at 92 and got a K but didn't have a ton of command of his fastball.

Did Erbe hit 92 on the Frederick gun?

Yep. Granted he didnt stay there and mostly worked 88 to 90 but he touched 92 on one of his first pitches. His second inning of work was decent stat wise but he was all over the place with his location. If these hitters weren't so aggressive it could've been a rough night for him.

Lot of hard throwers tonight. Melendez has come in from the bullpen for the keys now and was touching 91 and 93 in his warm ups....he has no idea where it's going though which is unfortunate.

Manny Machado with another HR tonight. Really coming on as of late.

Hector Veloz is having himself a week too. After a 2-5 with a Grand Slam yesterday, he went 3-3 today.

That's his biggest concern. Extremely struggles with command. I'm sure you noticed that from the three BB tonight.

That's the unfortunate story of Erbe's professional career. Bad mechanics equals inconsistent command.

If that kid had met Rick Peterson the day after he was drafted we might be talking about him and Dylan Bundy in the same sentence at this point.

There is something fishy about that Frederick gun. Interesting to see Erbe was sitting around 91-94 mph (equivalent of what is usually 88-90 on Frederick's gun). Last I heard he was in the high-80s but he may have regained some velocity. I hope he has.
