Agreed. A little worried on how far he can go innings-wise, but Hunter in pen apparently.
He's deserved it absolutely though.

Also, Flaherty could be headed to the DL. He has tonsilitis and left the game today with a 103 degree fever.

Good. That allows the O's to bring up someone else, maybe a pitcher for the pen. They fried it pretty well last nite. And w/Hunter in the pen, you have a true long man available for once. They shouldn't have to use the bullpen much in this game.

BTW, anyone know how Pomerantz is doing?

Why isn't Hunter starting though? Are they just pushing everybody back a day? Isn't Johnson taking Britton's spot?

That's been a hard question to answer this year.

If we could get a quality start from him, it would be huge, and probably cement Britton to Norfolk for the rest of the season 8-)

They never said he wasn't they just said he would be working out of the pen today. I'd imagine if he isn't used today maybe he starts a game vs KC and if he is used he will just take over Britton's slot in the rotation.

That is what I am thinking. He's clearly been their emergency guy though.
I would think if Johnson cannot go longer than 5 innings today then he might get in this game and save the pen a little.

Ayala, Strop, Johnson, and Hunter should be the only ones available in the bullpen today. Johnson and Hunter have to get them to atleast the 7th inning.
