I have heard that quote often he will try to draw a walk on a 3-2 counts and then takes a called strike three. Would you say that happens frequenty?

Absolutely, which is exactly the concern. He doesn't do enough with 2 strikes to protect the plate. With his strength he could go with many of those close pitches and muscle them for hits.
