Really cool piece, puts each top pick in perspective. Interesting seeing the bonuses in comparison, too.

One thing I really like about this draft is the balance of safety and upside. We selected 3 guys who are good bets to become at least relievers in Bywater, Klein and Schrader. Obviously there's Machado, but on top of that we drafted a few more high ceiling guys in Bridwell, Narron, Esquivel etc.

This strategy is totally different from last year, when we selected tons of high school pitchers & players coming of injuries. Camden Chat was running a series looking at Joe Jordan's draft tendencies, but they haven't posted it in a while. This is something I'm interested in and looking to explore in the future.

Anyway, Dan, great piece. Very well written, detailed and informative.
