What will the Orioles do before the trade deadline?

Let's hear what some of you believe the O's will do before the trade deadline.

Will they trade for a SP? A bat? Both?

I think they add a back end SP like Saunders or Vargas.

I posted last night on Twitter that I thought the O's would land Headley, but it seems the talks have died down a bit today.

It would be funny if they traded for Blanton after what happened last night.

Duquette rarely leaks anything so who knows what he is thinking. Coming into the season Duquette thought the team would be a .500 team so the real question is what does Duquette thinks this team needs to become an 85-90 win team?

If he thinks they are a Chase Headley + a back end of the rotation type starter away he'll give up what is necessary to obtain them. He isn't going to be like Andy and refuse to trade top prospects or talented young players. Of course he is going to be looking for bargains but you typically have to give up top talent to get top talent and in this market there won't be any bargains to be had. JJ Hardy was an exception, not a rule.

Anything that happens will not surprise me.

I also would not be surprised if they got Blanton. Lots of rumblings on Twitter today about how the Phils have some deals in place if they want to pull the trigger.

There was a rumor last night that the O's traded Luis Ayala, Joe Mahoney, and their comp pick to the Phillies for Joe Blanton. It turned out to be a fake Twitter account and it fooled Steve Melewski who tweeted the trade lol.

I think either Blanton or Pierre and that is about it. Unless we are moving Schoop and/or Arrieta nothing much is happening otherwise ..
