At this point, if he even just goes 6 IP and saves the bullpen I'd be happy.

If he gets rocked I'd let him throw 110+ pitches regardless of what the score is.

Last night was a total embarrassment. And now you recall a guy who has been essentially batting practice this season?? What a joke 8-)

I guess we all know how this start will go. Everything will be middle -high in the zone with no movement. low 90's at best, his stuff is one step above a bp pitcher. The scoreboard operator should get a work out.

Last time he started he was hitting 95. Call me crazy but I'm thinking a quality start for Hunter.

As bad as Hunter has been as a starter, he was still much more effective than Matusz and Arrieta.

It is so much more enjoyable watching someone throw strikes instead of nibbling. He may not have stuff that is nearly as good as Arrieta, Tillman, Britton, etc. but he sure does trust it.

7ip 6h 1er ... welcome back to Baltimore Tommy Hunter.

Comes out for the first batter of the 8th and gets a 3 pitch strike out.

7.1ip 6h 1er 0bb 1k 1hr final line.

The fourth inning was bad from Hunter. Everything was up but the other innings seemed fined.
FIP= HR + (BB + HBP + IBB) - K divided by IP. If that is the correct formula for FIP(I just googled it.) Hunter will never have a good FIP because he doesn't strike out alot of people and is homer prone. But, if he can limit the homers by pitching down in the zone for the majority of the game like he did last night, he can be very effective. I said earlier in the year that Hunter could be a middle but probably back of the rotation starter if he could pitch down in the zone. He did that last night and it showed off. Granted, he'll have to do that for the rest of the year, but if he does, I think we can see him in the rotation for the rest of the year. Oh and good call Matt P :D

Back to back quality starts for Tommy in his return to the O's. 7+ip 3er 0bb 4k 1hr but he takes the loss.

It's definitely not his fault they lost today as he pitched very well. A couple of base running mistakes as well as the inablity to come through with runners in scoring position did them in tonight.
