A .340 OBP is nothing special at all. This team has terrible OBP issues that's why he has the top OBP on the team. He absolutely is worthlesss, his .323 WOBA is HORRENDOUS for a first baseman and he plays atrocious defense.

A good portion of his walks are direct results of getting deeper into counts because he swings and misses so much, not because he has good plate discipline...

In a perfect world Reynolds and his way too high salary would not be on the team... One of the primary reasons he has good numbers against lefties would be his sky high .340 BABIP against them which I seriously doubt will be sustainable.

Even though .340 is nothing special it is still the best on the team. His defense at 1B is not atrocious. Just because he makes errors every now and then doesn't mean it is atrocious overall. Look at tonight for example (July 17) at the 6 or 7 great scoops he has made along with a catch running into the stands. He saved Flaherty 4 different times tonight on bad throws that he scooped and saved.

Didn't see the game but you are correct. His defense at 3B is definitely atrocious, but he's not awful at 1B (although I still think he is a below average first baseman overall).
