Keith Law ranks Bundy #2 prospect, Machado #3.

2. Dylan Bundy, RHP, Baltimore Orioles (age 19)
Current level: High Class A (Frederick)
Preseason ranking: 11

Without his cutter, he is not quite the same animal he was in high school, although there is some logic in asking a pitching prospect to shelve his best off-speed pitch temporarily so he can develop his others -- a curveball and a changeup in this case, both projecting as grade 55 or 60 pitches -- and work on fastball command. Give Bundy back his primary out pitch and he could pitch in Double-A or higher right now.

3. Manny Machado, SS, Baltimore Orioles (age 20)
Current level: Double-A (Bowie)
Preseason ranking: 4

Fans disappointed in Machado's performance earlier this year weren't considering how young and inexperienced he was as an everyday player in Double-A. After an adjustment period when he was never struggling, just failing to meet expectations, he is having results more commensurate with his high ranking. He is not as close to ready as Profar is on offense or defense, although I think he'll stay at shortstop and has more potential power.

Schoop did not make the top 50.

I think Law is really undervaluing Schoop. He's a smooth, nice looking player who can hit and has decent speed. As for Bundy, I love how the Orioles are handling him and can't wait until he and Peterson work together on a regular basis if they haven't already 8-)

Machado, with that great bat speed, is going to kill those LF seats at Camden Yards 8-)

I would say Schoop is in the 75-85 range. Not top 50 but he's a solid prospect.

Law is also a big fan of is.

Yea law is actually one of the first writers like this to jump on the Schoop bandwagon, so I can't knock him there.
He isn't a top 50 prospect right now. Agree he is in top 100 though

Quietly, the average has been creeping up along with the power.

Most AA pitchers know how to pitch. Hitters either learn that a hitters count doesn't always mean a FB or they flame out there.

If Schoop finishes the year with an OPS of between .750 and .800 I'll bet he makes someone's top 50 list this Winter.

Just my two cents: Schoop is a better hitter right now than Machado. I emphasize right now 8-)

Have you actually seen them both play?
Not trying to be rude, but anyone whom has seen them in games would tell you otherwise.
