I have no problems with a Solo HR. He is pitching efficiently.
I'm also half asleep so this game is draining me haha. Need more offense.

Back to back 1-2-3 innings for the 5th and 6th. He can easily come out for the 7th but I don't know anything about his stamina as a starting pitcher, so perhaps not.

I thought he looked a little gassed in the 7th but he gutted it out and got 7 full innings. What a great start for him.

Well, count me as impressed.
Literally pitched exactly like his last AAA Start, which I also watched. He was gassed in the 7th then too.
He mixes his pitches very well and keeps the hitters guessing.

really looking forward to watching his next start

After seeing Arrieta be all over the place last night what a joy it was to watch Gonzalez work. He remained calm and in control the entire time he was out there and his fastball command was fantastic.

Great starting debut for Gonzalez. He looked like a right handed version of Chen out there. By that I don't mean the same stuff but the ability to mix and match, hit spots, and stay calm and cool all night. I won't get overexcited as it's just one start but he definitely earned himself a few more starts as he did more than anyone was hoping he would tonight.

They did too!

Socolovich's last outing was 3.1 innings, the longest this year. I wonder if they're starting to stretch him out too, like they did with Gonzalez.

Keep in mind Gonzo II was only a reliever at the start of the year. Maybe he gets stronger as the year goes on to go deeper.

A couple of notes from yesterday's game:
Hardy has the most accurate arm I've ever seen. It seems like he hits Reynolds' head/chest area every time.
Personally, I don't think Pujol's catch was that great. I make that play in practice all the time. You have to watch it the whole time of course. If you can't camp under it, hopefully you are in a position where you are about 2 feet behind where the ball is gonna land. At that point you full extend your arm and hope the ball will land where your glove is placed. Just MO.
Pearce has a weird swing. It looks like a lofty, one-handed upper-cut.
Gonzalez looked fantastic on the mound. I was really impressed with that play he made on Hunter's bunt. He made some very good hitters like Trout, Kendrick, and Morales.
When is Teagarden supposed to be back? Paulino is bad behind the plate and hasn't hit much besides the first game he played.
Mark Reynolds keeps getting on base. He is gonna go on a tear sooner or later and carry this team for a week.

Teagarden is at AA Bowie rehabbing so it's not long till he is back.
That is, unless there are any setbacks

Amazing behind the scenes story on Gonzalez using Nick Adenharts glove in this game.

Really nice read. Adenhart was a good guy. My buddy was friends with him and said that he was a really good person.
