The first inning of tonight's game is a microcosm of our problems this year. The A's got the lead off guy on and then used a productive out to place him in scoring position. They were then able to bring him home over the next two ABs.

We have runners on first and second with one out and couldn't even move them up with our next two batters.

We've already used Hunter and Rodriguez. I wonder if Buck has a back up plan if Johnson doesn't have it tonight.

Never mind, JJ was lights out. We just can't use (abuse) him like we have and, if we actually do make the playoffs, we're going to have to keep him fresh. If I were Buck I would allow Hunter to have about half of the save opportunities in September so that they're BOTH fresh if necessary in October.
