Max Scherzer (9-0, 3.19 ERA)
Jake Arrieta (1-1, 6.63 ERA)
I'd say there is a very good chance the Orioles lose this game. Arrieta had been getting shelled in AAA, with a 5.5 ERA. Meanwhile, Scherzer is one of the best pitchers in baseball.

I agree, and tomorrow doesn't look any better with Britton starting. He averages about a 1 walk per inning. Wednesdays game is our best chance to win with Tillman on the mound.

Jake has proven he is not a ML starting pitcher. Next stop, AAA and the bullpen.

Very prophetic!

Arrieta doesn't belong in the Orioles organization. As for Scherzer, we liked Billy Rowell more. :x

In his last two AAA starts, Jake Arrieta has compiled 10 1/3 innings, given up 19 hits, 15 earned runs, and only struck out three people. He had no business being in the majors, let alone starting in the majors. He should not have one appearance in the majors in 2013 if not for our pathetic pitching depth. As for today, it looks bleak as well. I've read Zach Britton has thrown the ball well his last couple starts, but I'm skeptical. Anybody could toss a few good innings in a row in AAA. We've seen pitchers dominate for awhile in AAA and get shelled. I know the ERA looks good, but lets keep in mind that Britton has an ugly 1.459 WHIP & an ugly 1.91 SO/BB. Plus, he is up against one of the best offenses in baseball, and one of the best pitchers in baseball. Chalk up an L. Prove me wrong Zach.
