For the Orioles:

Nate McLouth LF
J.J. Hardy SS
Chris Davis RF
Adam Jones CF
Matt Wieters C
Jim Thome DH
Mark Reynolds 1B
Ryan Flaherty 2B
Manny Machado 3B

Miguel Gonzalez RHP

For the Rays:

Desmond Jennings LF
B.J. Upton CF
Ben Zobrist SS
Evan Longoria 3B
Jeff Keppinger 1B
Matt Joyce RF
Ryan Roberts 2B
Luke Scott DH
Chris Gimenez C

James Shields RHP

Rays eliminated from playoff contention; how do they react? O's going with same lineup as yesterday, looking to generate more offense off of a tough James Shields. Two games left, need two wins if they want a chance at the division.

An amazing start from Gonzalez so far. A pitcher who began 2012 in Triple-A has thrown 6 scoreless innings in the O's most important game of the season so far. Unbelievable.

In some ways he reminds me of Mike Boddicker. He gets so much from modest talent, knows how to pitch, seems fearless on the mound, and was never considered a top prospect.

We'll have to see how he adjust after the league gets a more thorough scouting report on him next year and makes its own adjustments. I also think he would benefit from a winter of dedicated workouts on his legs and core muscles. It might add another inning or two for his starts.

Was that Andrew Bailey or BEETLE Bailey blowing the save in the Ninth?
