Anyone aware of any reason for Steve Johnson leaving the game in Norfolk after only pitching 2 innings? Only faced 7 batters and threw 34 pitches.

Down on the farm, Triple-A Norfolk's Steve Johnson was removed after two innings tonight with a strained groin muscle.

Johnson allowed a hit and walked a batter before coming out of the Tides' game against the Pawtucket Red Sox. Willie Eyre replaced him.

Steve Johnson left his start tonight for Triple-A Norfolk due to a strained groin. He had pitched two scoreless innings on 31 pitches against Pawtucket to lower his ERA to 2.62. They won't know how long he might be out until they take a closer look at him tomorrow.

That's unfortunate because he was pitching very well this year.
