The Baltimore Orioles selected Brady Wager in the 9th round of the 2012 draft and signed him for $125,000. Wager posted a 3.75 ERA and struck out 78 hitters in 84 innings at Grand Canyon University last year.
Wager was sent to the GCL, like most draft picks, where he struck out 12 and walked 5 in 12.2 innings. After six GCL appearances, Wager was moved up to Aberdeen where he made six starts spanning 26.2 innings.
As an IronBird, Wager posted a 5.06 ERA, struck out 18 and walked just 6.
