Position Player of the Week – L.J. Hoes
It’s getting to the point where we automatically write his name weekly. He continued his phenomenal 2012 season with a .400/.464/.560 batting line.
Starting Pitcher of the Week – Tim Berry
Berry had one of the most dominant outings in the Orioles system this week. He went 7.0 innings with 1 ER and 11 K’s while only allowing 2 hits.
Relief Pitcher of the Week – Cameron Coffey
Coffey made two appearances out of the Ironbirds bullpen, pitching 6.0 innings with 3 H, 1 R, 5 K, 0 BB allowed.

A few Roster moves today:

LHP Josh Hader was promoted from the GCL to Aberdeen (first reported yesterday)
OF Lucas Herbst was promoted from Aberdeen to Delmarva
OF Glynn Davis was promoted from Delmarva to Frederick.
OF Mike Planeta was placed on the DL for Delmarva

Recently signed UDFA Chris Green has pitched 2 innings with 5 Ks for GCL O's. He's a guy to keep an eye on in future. Had Tommy John Surgery in his Junior year of college.

Don said he can hit mid to upper 90's with his fastball and could be a potential sleeper.

I like these kinds of signings. They're relatively inexpensive and, with a legitimate development system, are bound to bear fruit occasionally. At the very least they improve the level of competition within the farm system.
