I would rather set myself on fire TWICE in the same day than see that POS in an Orioles' uniform. Other that that I'm fine with it.

I would probably shrug and say, "Gee I wish we had someone whom was a long term solution."

I told my roommates this the other day and intend on keeping it. If the Orioles sign Manny I will stop being a fan for his time on the roster. I will still follow the minor league system, but will distance myself from the major league club until he is no longer on the roster. It would represent us getting so desperate we sign someone who can't play about 1/3 of the season.

Depends. If he is signed on a minor league deal, it is fine with me. At this point in the offseason you never know , he might have to settle for that.

To me this isn't a talent or monetary issue, it's a character issue. The failed drug tests don't concern me as much as the way he weaseled and connived his way out of Boston. Manny cares about Manny before EVERYTHING else and I would prefer not to expose our young players to that type of influence.

I don't think it's completely illogical for a team to take a flyer on someone with his still-recent accomplishments. In fact, when my baseball dreamweaver (the Rays) signed him last year, I thought it made a lot of sense.

But for this team, at this time, to consider signing someone with his baggage and age would be the picture of ineptitude.

I guess all I'd do is shake my head and probably say some flippant things to whoever's near me about the Orioles and how doomed we are.

This would be a joke and embarassment. I cant believe any major league clubs are even talking to this clown. My interest in this season would all but evaporate
