Orioles FIP Projections for 2012

Another name that isn't on here (since he was signed yesterday) but would be interesting to see where he would fit into these projections is Armando Galarraga. If he can return to the form that got him a (almost) perfect game he could be a decent addition. However, he finished the season horribly in AAA. We only signed him to a minor league contract reducing our risk.

I think he is more of an insurance signing, because I frankly don't think he is very good. But it's a signing that like you said, has low risk. Not a bad signing at all. If he provides any value then the signing is good.
I don't think he effects anything significantly

I see Guthrie closer to his average for the past two years 4.08 along with a $10.25 arbitration award

I read that Galarraga has been pitching in the Venezuelan Winter League this offseason. He's 1-2 with a 6.65 ERA in five starts.

Even if he is struggling in the VWL I would still rather him for an emergency start than Jo-Jo Reyes or Chris Jakubauskas.
