Who Do You See As The Orioles Second Baseman in 2012?

It'll be Andino.

I honestly don't believe Roberts will be ready until close to 2 months into the season. There have been a number of Duquette interviews where he's been asked about second base and he did not mention Roberts at all.

Am I going out on a limb if I say the team will give Flaherty and Antonelli first crack at it before they hand the job to Andino?

I don't think Roberts will be ready. Yes, I think our second basemen of 2012 is already on the roster.
I want to say put Andino and Antonelii as super utility guys. Then have Flaherty and Adams battle it out. But from what I've heard, it looks like it'll be Andino. But I do think Flaherty will make the roster one way or the other. He was the best offensive threat coming out of the Rule 5. He is our 6th best prospect and is projected to be our 2015 DH. If he doesn't get the starting job, I think Flaherty will become a offensive-minded utility guy.

Oh and this is a good topic for a post considering how many options we have at second. I was gonna get around to this but you got to it first.

It will be andino. He can occasionally lead off when needed, gives us some speed in the lineup that would otherwise be pretty nonexistent , and has practically a full year under his belt. Buck seems to be fairly comfortable with him as well. I see Antonelli and flaherty(if makes the club) as backups who probably play 2-3 times a week at most. Antonelli could take more AB away though as the season progresses.

Also for some reason Adams is not very favored in the organization. At least that is what I grasp from the current roster.

And I don't understand why. He showed signs of a ML bat in the brief tryout he had last year. There's no question that the glove needs work but I think the team should see what improvements he has made over the winter before they dismiss him out of hand.

i think they will continue to work on adams d. i think it's possible andino, antonelli and flaherty all get significant time in the near term.
