Look at Jarrod Dyson

Look at Jarrod Dyson

The Royals just acquired Norichika Aoki. They now have six capable outfielders on the major league roster
1) Alex Gordon- 29 years old/4.2 WAR
2) Lorenzo Cain- 27 years old/3.2 WAR
3) Norichika Aoki- 31 years old/3.0 WAR
4) David Lough- 27 years old/2.7 WAR
5) Jarrod Dyson- 29 years old/1.8 WAR
6) Justin Maxwell- 30 years old/0.6 WAR

I'd gladly take anybody from that list. They are probably exploring multiple trade scenarios right now, but I doubt they'd keep four left handed outfielders. Three left handers and two right handers is a much more plausible situation. Baltimore needs a platoon partner to match with Steve Pearce. Dyson is a perfect fit. He's;

-very cheap
-capable of playing all three outfield positions
-extremely fast(53 net steals the past two years in a part time role!!)
-hits RHP better than his total batting line
-great defender

Please go for it!

The idea has merit. I'd send Brian Matusz for him. I suspect KC has other plans though.

I love Dyson in the OF. Superb defender. Bat has some holes, but I would classify him as an above average to plus 4th OF. Great bench option and provides more versatility in OF than the other current options. Nolan Reimold has a much better bat, but his injury concerns make him tough to rely on. Steve Pearce is more of a DH platoon, reserve LF/1B type.

Haha thanks. I just focused on the wrong speedy, left-handed outfielder. I'm surprised Lough was the odd man out. Dyson is older, arbitration eligible sooner, and a worse defender. Oh well, Kansas City still has a surplus of outfielders.

You actually had Lough #4 and Dyson #5, unless you were just listing who they had.

I was just listing them in terms of WAR, and most likely availability I thought. They're very similar players, I just advocated for the wrong one.
