Orioles select Adrian Rosario in Rule 5 draft

Orioles select Adrian Rosario in Rule 5 draft

PostPost #1 by Don » December 9th, 2010, 9:20 am

The Orioles have selected Adrian Rosario, a 20 year relief pitcher from the Brewers organization. I do not suspect he to last on the Orioles and maybe traded to another club. The Orioles were targeting Jose Flores from the Indians.

Deal for Hardy will be Hoey and Jacobson, it would have been Jacobson and Flores.

Also Pedro Beato was selected by the Mets organization.

Mets selected Beato in the second round of the draft, but they are trying to carry two Rule 5 players. I would not expect Beato to last beyond spring training.

Pat Egan was selected by the Brewers. Simply a swap of relief pitchers between organization. They both could likely stick with the teams with a "hand shake" agreement to allow the Orioles to keep Rosario and the Brewers to keep Egan.

Seeing the Mets signed D.J Carrasco to a two year deal today, I think it is even more un-likely that Pedro Beato will make it out of Mets camp in the spring.

Sickels weighs in:
21 year old from the Dominican Republic, posted 3.50 ERA with 59/18 K/BB in 46 innings between the Pioneer and Midwest League. Projectable and young, and dramatically improved his strikeout rate this year. Probably a long shot to stick due to lack of experience.
