Looks like he has hit the wall. Very shaky of late. Perhaps we should think about easing Hammel into the setup role down the stretch

He is what he is, a guy without great command but with lots of movement. Because he comes in with a lead late in the game he can usually get people to swing and miss. But if they don't swing, he runs the risk of giving away walks.

Hammel into the setup role? Why would be put our best starting pitcher in the bullpen? Strop has had a tremendous season. So maybe he is expierencing some fatigue. I wouldn't worry about just yet. But a couple more outings like the last one and he might be gone from the set-up role. O'Day can always control the 8th inning.

I was surprised that Buck didn't allow Strop to start the Ninth today. The ole "back on the horse" thing. If he could set them down one, two, three; it would have done wonders for his confidence.

He'll be fine. Not many relievers are dominant the entire season as they all usually have a game or two here and there where they struggle. Especially relievers like Strop who don't have good control.

It was good to see Pedro back on track. Ten pitches, eight strikes, and three clean outs in the Eighth. I'll take it.
