Any idea on what we're giving up? Not a huge fan of Blanton, but I do think he's better than Gonzalez and Hunter at this point.

I think Blanton needs to be used in a trade for Headley, because we already have a Blanton. His name is Tommy Hunter. Blanton throws more strikes. Not a horrible pick up though

No idea. Can't imagine it's too much especially if the O's take on all of the $3 million he's owed. They are certainly capable of doing so.

If it turns out to be Ryan Adams for Blanton, I'm happy with it.

I don't think the Padres would be interested.

I'd be perfectly fine with that.

I've always thought he could turn out to be a league average 2B, but at this point he's not in our plans. So I say let him go to Philly and play decently well if it helps us win a few more games.

Exactly; especially with Schoop on the rise at 2B.

Blanton also doesn't get tired after 60 pitches.

Adams has a decent bat but nothing more. He will hit for average but doesn't have much power, speed, and has trouble playing 2B still.

That being said, he is absolutely a change of scenery guy and think he could do well with a fresh start. I like the deal for both sides if this is what it is.

Not the arm we were looking to acquire but I guess another arm for hopefully just a ok second basemen is better then nothing. Maybe with a few days left Dan can find something else he likes.

If the Orioles make a trade for Blanton they should also try to get Chase Utley in the trade since Brian Roberts is out for the year.

To me, he's just another injury prone 2B. Wouldn't really want him in a deal.

Instead of trading for Joe Blanton maybe they should consider the following; They should try trading Arrieta,Steven Wayne Tolleson and Ryan Adams to the Houston Astros for Jose Carlos Altuve (2b) and Bud Norris (p) or JD Martinez (OF),
