I will agree that Ankiel is an upgrade over Chavez. Thats not saying much, Chavez would not be on many teams 40 man. the real answer to LF is Avery, he brings a dynamic that no one else on the roster can offer. I'd start Avery and if you get into a situation that requires a pinch hitter than we have guys that can do that.

As long as Chavez is on the roster, Ankiel would be an upgrade over him.
