Like they had any other choice after they optioned Avery.
Looking at tonight's lineup I wonder how many balls hit on the ground to the left side of field will have ANY leather touch them until they bounce off of the OF wall? We have a battle cruisers of line ups. All big guns and NO defense.
He is the closest thing we have to a table setter. I think ideally he would be a perfect #2 hitter but without Roberts or Avery, I'm good with it. He played great tonight, 3 doubles, good defensive RF. I admit I didn't see this coming. Good move Buck
I'm still bitter as to why Avery is not getting an opportunity now. There are several players that could go away to make room for him.
Yea count me as one who didn't see this coming. I've always thought he was a good leadoff option but I never penciled him there with the lack of production guys they have for the middle of the lineup.
Needless to say, he is already proving to be a much needed piece. Regardless of what people think on the contract, he is a vital piece to this team and they clearly were hurting without him. Of course they need much more than him to win, but count me as very relieved to have him back.
