I was a bit surprised and disappointed that Phillips was DFAd. I thought he was someone who could still be useful to us this season 8-)

With the amount of relievers pitching well at AAA, Phillips isn't really needed.

I thought this was a horrendous idea from the start but he is doing even worse than I imagine. The Twins actually intentionally walked Hardy twice in the two games Thome played in to get to him. I don't get why Buck didn't pinch hit Pearce with the bases loaded against a lefty today.

That amounts to a "non-confidence" vote for Thome. I still think this guy wins a few games for us with his bat. He's someone you still have to pitch carefully to in my opinion 8-)

I hope Thome is the last "has been" DH ten years past their prime to come to Baltimore.

He cost us little and IMHO will win us two or three games with his bat before the season is over 8-)

Thome could turn out to be a heck of a pickup.

I think I want to see him hit well somewhere outside of Cleveland. Funny that he got such a positive reaction the first couple days in Cleveland and then by today, after he has performed well against them I heard they were booing him.

I do think it will be hard to assign a W value to his leadership.
