Back in May, the Orioles acquired lefty Mike Belfiore from the Diamondbacks to complete the Josh Bell trade. Belfiore found little difficulty in his first year as a reliever with the Baysox and narrowly beat out Chris Petrini for this award.
In 47.1 innings for the Baysox, Belfiore struck out 50, walked 21, gave up only 2 home runs and pitched to a 2.85 ERA.
On top of his time with the Baysox, Belfiore made 12 appearances with the Visalia Rawhide where he struck out 28 and walked 5 in 19 innings.
Belfiore looks set to begin 2013 with the Norfolk Tides and will likely see the majors at some point next season.
