I was at yesterday’s GCL Orioles game and will likely be there tomorrow night once again. The Orioles defeated the GCL Twins 6-4. Here are some notes from the game…

Adrian Marin was extremely impressive once again.
Adrian Marin was extremely impressive once again. He beat out a routine infield ground ball for a base hit and his home to first time on the play was 4.2 seconds, which is 60 speed on the 20-80 scouting scale.
Manuel Hernandez showed some bat speed today when he lined a fastball through the gap and into left field. He has some quick hands, too.
Jalen Simmons struggled at the plate today, but displayed some above-average speed and solid arm strength when he doubled up a guy off first. A spoke with a scout who graded his arm strength as above-average and said he has some solid bat speed.
Alexander Santana made the start for the Orioles and worked with an 86-88 mph fastball, slider and changeup. The slider is his primary secondary pitch but he mixed in a few very good changeups.
The box score is actually incorrect, as Duke Porter followed Santana. He worked with an 85-87 mph fastball and a curveball.
Jake Pintar followed Porter and allowed an inherited runner to score. He threw some above-average curveballs in the 68-71 mph range. His fastball was fairly straight and sat 88-90 mph, but he has a lot of projection.
