Notes
- The Cincinnati Reds have claimed Pitcher Alfredo Simon off waivers, according to The Baltimore Sun’s Dan Connolly. He had been placed on waivers over the weekend.
- The Orioles made two more cuts today, reassigning Pat Neshek to AAA and outrighting Jai Miller to AAA after he cleared waivers, according to MASN’s Roch Kubatko.
- Tsuyoshi Wada will start the season on the 15-day disabled list, according to Kubatko. He will make two starts in the minors and build his pitch count up.
- Former Orioles Pitcher Jason Johnson was in camp today to throw for the team and is hopeful to get a spot in extended spring training, according to Kubatko. He had surgery to repair a torn labrum two years ago and is reportedly throwing up to 92 MPH again.
- Chipper Jones told ESPN’s Buster Olney that Jason Hammel impressed him the most this spring with his increased velocity.
