Pettit was roughed up at Delmarva but still received a promotion to Frederick in mid-July, and since then he has dominated Carolina League hitters. As a Key, Pettit has posted a 1.62 ERA with 41 strikeouts and just 15 walks in 55.2 innings. In August he put up a 2.57 ERA with 6 walks and 22 strikeouts in 28 innings.
Relief Pitcher of the Month – Jason Gurka
Gurka struck out 12 batters while walking just 3 and posted a 2.53 ERA in 10.2 August innings.
