- Last night’s 15-run loss was the worst by an IronBirds team in Ripken Stadium history. The previous record was 12 runs, set on July 20, 2004 against the Williamsport Crosscutters. The IronBirds worst loss in franchise history was a 16-run “L” at the Batavia Muckdogs on August 10, 2002.
- Infielder Tommy Winegardner and relief pitcher Jose Nivar made their IronBirds debuts last night. Winegardner started at short, going 0-for-4 with two strikeouts. Nivar surrendered three runs (all earned) on two hits and three walks in an inning-and-a-third. Nivar did, however, flash a mid-90’s fastball and struck-out three batters.
- Tonight was the final IronBirds home game of the 2011 season. Aberdeen went 13-24 at Ripken Stadium this season.
