  • Since joining the Carolina League on July 14th, Pettit owns the best ERA in the Carolina League and is tied with Kyle Landis (KIN) for the most wins in the CL.

  • Riley Hornback is currently riding a season long six-game hit streak (8-for-21, .380).  His average has jumped from .200 to .231 during the stretch.
  • The Shorebirds faced three lefty starters against West Virginia and are scheduled to face three against Lakewood.  They saw five lefty starters during the recent road swing.
  • The Shorebirds bullpen (Wright, Simon, Walters) combined to hurl six scoreless innings last night in Charleston.  They allowed a combined two hits and retired 12 of the final 13 batters.
  • With his SAL high 30th save last night against West Virginia, David Walters is now three saves from tying the single season franchise record (Derek Brown, 33 in 1998).  Walters has converted his last nine save chances.
