After the Orioles moved him off second base and into left field this year, Hoes started to receive criticism that he didn’t have enough power for left field. Hoes answered his critics by hitting .349 in July with 4 home runs, a .412 OBP, .519 SLG, .170 ISO, and .931 OPS.
Starting Pitcher of the Month – Bobby Bundy
Bundy’s tremendous season already earned him a promotion to Bowie, and he finished off his time as a Frederick Key in impressive fashion. During July, opposing hitters batted just .173 off the righty; he struck out 33 batters, walked just 10, and allowed only 26 hits.
Relief Pitcher of the Month – Eddie Gamboa
Gamboa threw 22 July innings and held opposing hitters to a .169 average, struck out 12 and walked just 5.
