Don’s Thoughts: Oliver has a University of Arkansas Commitment. He showcases as a tall, lanky right hander, who should be a starter in the future. His fastball sits in the low 90′s and he has the foundation for a 12/6 curveball that will be refined as he grows into his body. The curve is a decent offering that shows potential.
He features a few timing mechanisms that could create control a problem in an overextended high leg kick, and others. I do not see much risk in the arm action, but as with every younger pitcher the syncronization is not in line from pitch to pitch.
Oliver is 100% projection who has some quality aspects in his game that, if signed, adds a another solid young arm into the system. He will likely be a draft and follow during the summer.
