2. I have heard a lot of Rendon-Longoria comparisons. Is it possible Rendon could even be better than Longoria if you consider his glove work and plate discipline?

This is a statement stance that I make at the moment. Bryce Harper would not lose because he has show to be better than the talent level at that league and would be high school age. Manny would be a year older and lets say he takes a peg down and has trouble hitting in that league or any league for that manner. He could go from 3 to 12 next year with an influx of talent from the 2011 class. It means that he could go from 6 million in his pocket to 2 million. Scott Boras is not crazy enough to leave money on the table for either player.

1. Machado – We knew the negotiations were going to go down to the wire.

3. Dan Klein – I believe Joe Jordan said the negotiations are going much slower than expected. But he should sign soon.

4. Trent Mummey – We knew he’d sign quickly.

5. Connor Narron – We knew this was going to be a tough, but it should happen soon.

6. Dixon Anderson – Sophomore, so he can still go back to college. We’ll probably sign him, but close to the deadline, which was expected.

7. Matt Bywater – Was expected to sign quickly, and I honestly can’t tell you why he hasn’t signed yet, I’m shocked.

8. Wynston Sawyer – We also knew this was going to be a tough sign, and he’ll probably get an overslot bonus. HS teammate told me he expects Sawyer to sign, though.

9. Parker Bridwell – High upside. If I had to pick any top 10 draftee to go unsigned, I’d go with Bridwell.

10. Clayton Schrader – We signed him today.

Overall, I think our negotiations with Klein and Bywater have gone much, much slower than we expected. But as for the others, some sort of delay is normal.

The Rays leave all of their top pitching prospects in AAA for 40+ starts, not many bust. When they come to the majors they are ready to help out right away. I still don’t understand why other teams haven’t learned from them .

Arrieta received a good amount of AAA time, but he was walking way too many hitters and was not ready to come up. Matusz should have received some AAA time, but I was fine with the move because he’s so advanced. He’ll be fine in the long run.

Hopefully they keep Britton down in AAA for at least 30 starts before his major league debut. They better not make the same mistake again.

I definitely see him as a singles hitter, with maybe 25-35 doubles and a bunch of triples, maybe 10-12. Some believe Avery could develop 15-20 HR power, but 9-12 is more realistic to me.
