Notes and Transactions
- Lead off hitters are batting .393 against Ryan O’Shea but with runners in scoring position just .182.
- Before tonight, the Shorebirds had won 9 straight games at Perdue Stadium.

According to this report, Brad Bergesen may get the nod for the Tides tonight. He only threw 65 pitches on Thursday. If he does well, the O’s may want him to start on Saturday vs. the Nationals.
Personally, I would agree with this post. Bergesen seems to be moving around without any plan. He’ll go through several days without throwing, then he throws on short rest, then he’ll possibly go on regular rest. Also, he is a starter, then a reliver, then a starter again.
It is all quite frustrating. One would hope that the organization would come up with a proper role for Bergesen and fully commit to it, instead of all of this reflexive and disorganized decision making.
Couldn’t agree more. This was also brought up in the forums:

Tyler Sexton will be starting for the IronBirds tonight against the Brooklyn Cyclones. Last year he was the team strikeout and IP leader.
Tolliver did not pitch in their first 3 games. There is no mention of him on the Transactions List. Does anyone know why he has not seen any game time, so far?
Thanks, NYOrioleFan, I will add him into the starts slot in the game preview.
Tolliver is out with a shoulder strain and should be back in 4-7 days.
