Butler is the second player from the Erik Bedard trade that is no longer with the team. It’s unfortuante that Butler could never stay healthy because he had as much, if not more, potential than Chris Tillman when the trade happened.

UPDATE: Kevin Landry and Thomas Phelps will be called up from Aberdeen to replace Butler and Smith. According to Brett Lasky (voice of the Shorebirds):

Landry was selected in the 21st round of the 2009 First Year Player Draft out of the College of William & Mary.  Phelps was picked in the 38th round of the 2008 First Year Player Draft out of Whittier College (CA).
