Overall Thoughts:
I didn’t like this pick at first, but I don’t think it’s at bad as it looks. Sure, he’s not a high upside center fielder, but he’s a well rounded ball player. According to Andy Seiler, Mummey is one of best center fielders in this draft class, with an average hit tool, average power, and does an excellent job getting on base. He’s expected to sign quickly and should start his pro career with the Delmarva Shorebirds or Frederick Keys.

Reminds me of when we drafted Reimold.
Reminds me of Matt Angle. Didnt think we needed another
Actually now that I look deeper, he appears to have a little more pop then Angle. Joe Jordan, on S. Melewski’s MASN blog, said he is a Lenny Dykstra type player. I kinda like the pick now
Covers a lot of ground in centerfield has a better than average
arm and some pop with the bat. Fans of Baltimore he will become
a fan favorite with his i can attitude.
Mummey is the real article. His power is drastically underated by scouting! He would have led the entire country in homeruns if it were not for his injury…..Understand he posted 10′ numbers after missing half the season. The kid can hit. The kid can get on base and the kid can play a mean/wicked center field. Excellent glove! I actually thought Mummey was a 2nd round type talent…..To get him in the 4th round is a steal. Trust me on this one. He is a ballplayer all O’ fans will know in 3 years.
