Scouting Report (via Pat Hickey, who’s seen Mosby play in person):
A sophomore draftee out of Wabash Valley, a Junior College in Illinois, Mosby is a right-handed hitting corner infielder who played alongside Mel Rojas Jr. in 2010. Playing against inferior competition in the Great Rivers Athletic Conference, Mosby put up some tremendous numbers this year. He hit .451 with 18 home runs and 82 RBI, as well as going 19-for-21 in stolen base attempts. Although those numbers obviously aren’t truly indicative of future performance, Mosby is a tremendous fastball hitter and controls the barrel of the bat very well. He punishes mistake pitches left up in the zone and has the eye to lay off breaking pitches out of the zone. Mosby generates good bat speed, but will need to shorten his swing at the pro levels as he progresses. Defensively, Mosby has solid arm strength but is fringe-average with the glove and his footwork. He should be able to stick there to start his professional career, but he may need to move to a corner outfield spot or even first base.

Overall Thoughts:
Mosby was the first corner infielder selected by the Orioles, and it looks like he has some potential with the bat. He should sign quickly and make his pro debut with the Aberdeen IronBirds.
