Scouting Report: Alexander Gonzalez – Orioles Eleventh Round Pick

Scouting Report (via MLB Bonus Baby):

Vitals & School:

  • Boca Raton CHS
  • DOB: 1/15/1992
  • RHP
  • 6′ 2″
  • 190 lbs.
  • Throws: Right
  • Bats: Right

Overall Thoughts:

Gonzalez has average stuff and relies on command & control more than anything. There’s obviously no such thing as a ‘safe’ HS draft pick, but Gonzalez is a guy who could move through the system quickly, as he’s rather polished for his age. The Orioles stayed away from projectable high school pitchers in this draft.
