Pitcher of the Week: Zach Britton

Why He’s Here: 10.1 IP (2 GS), 8 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 3 K, 1 W, 0.87 ERA

Scoop: Britton’s statistics would look much better if he hadn’t been hit by a comebacker in his most recent start. He should be good to go for his next start and hopefully we start to see the Zach Britton we saw at Frederick last season.

Hitter of the Week: L.J. Hoes

Why He’s Here: .400/.532/.480 (10 for 25), 2 2B, 1 RBI, 7 BB, 5 K

Scoop: As the second youngest player in the Carolina League this season, Hoes has one of the best hitters so far. He’s been one of the most patient hitters in the league (20 BB/13K) and has a .318 batting average on the season.
