Norfolk 2, Durham 7 – Box Score

  • Rhyne Hughes went 2 for 4 with a double, 2 RBI and a strikeout.
  • Brandon Snyder went 2 for 4.
  • Scott Moore went 0 for 4 with a strikeout.
  • Josh Bell went 0 for 3 wit a walk and a strikeout.
  • Brandon Erbe allowed 7 hits, 4 runs, 1 walk and struck out 4 batters in 5.1 innings.

Anaysis: I’ve been waiting for Bell to take is first walk of the season. Very disappointing so far.

Bowie 3, Akron 2 – Box Score

  • Brandon Waring went 2 for 4 with a run, a double, a home run, 3 RBI and 2 strikeouts.
  • Tyler Henson went 1 for 4 with a double.
  • Ryan Adams went 0 for 4.
  • Pedro Florimon Jr. went 0 for 3 with a walk and a strikeout.
  • Tim Bascom pitched 5 innings, allowing just 3 hits and 1 ER. He walked 2 batters and struck out 6.
  • Pedro Beato picked up the win, pitching 2 innings, allowing 4 hits and 1 ER. He walked one batter.
  • Chad Thall pitched 1.1 innings, giving up just 1 walk.
  • Pat Egan pitched 2/3 of an inning, allowing just one hit. He picked up the save.

Analysis: Thall and Egan have been the anchors of a very strong bullpen, and now have ERAs of 0.00 and 1.23, respectively.

Lynchburg 4, Frederick 6 – Box Score

  • Kyle Hudson went 2 for 4 with 2 runs.
  • L.J. Hoes went 1 for 4 with an RBI.
  • Ronnie Welty went 0 for 3 with a walk and 3 strikeouts.
  • Billy Rowell went 1 for 3 with a run, 2 RBI, a walk and a strikeout.
  • Buck Britton went 2 for 4 with a run, a home run, a double and 3 RBI.
  • Cole McCurry pitched 5 innings, allowing 5 hits and 1 ER. he walked 2 batters and struck out 5.
  • Brett Jacobson pitched 3 innings, allowing 5 hits and 3 runs (2 ER). He walked 1 batter and struck out 1.
  • Brandon Cooney picked up the save, pitching a scoreless inning to end the game.

Analysis: I attended the game so I’ll have a lot more on this later.

Hagerstown 13, Delmarva 4 – Box Score

  • Tyler Kolodny went 3 for 4 with a run, a triple, a home run, 2 RBI and a strike out.
  • Steve Bumbry went 0 for 3 with a walk and a strikeout.
  • Garabez Rosa went 2 for 4 with a run.
  • Tony Butler pitched 3 innings, allowing 5 hits and 5 ER. He walked 4 batters and struck out 3.
  • Randy Henry pitched 3.2 innings, allowing 8 hits and 7 runs (5 ER). He struck out 7 batters and walked none.

Analysis: Randy is a stud, perhaps he left too many pitches over the plate? Looks like Rosa could be on the verge of a breakout season.
