Minor League Scores – 4/12/10

Published by Jordan Tuwiner on April 12, 2010

Norfolk 3, Charlotte 6 – Box Score

  • Lou Montanez went 0 for 4.
  • Scott Moore went 0 for 4 with 2 strikeouts.
  • Brandon Snyder went 1 for 4 with a run and 2 strikeouts.
  • Josh Bell went 1 for 4 with a run, a 2B, an RBI and a strikeout.
  • Rhyne Hughes went 2 for 4 with an RBI and a strikeout.
  • Brandon Erbe pitched 4.1 innings, allowing 6 hits and 4 ER. He struck out 3 batters and walked 3.
  • Kam Mickolio allowed 2 hits and 1 ER in .2 innings. He struck out 2 batters and walked 2.

Analysis: Erbe got roughed up in his debut, I was expecting this. It’s still early, but I really think Erbe needed some more AA time after just 73 innings there last season.

Harrisburg 2, Bowie 5 – Box Score

  • Brandon Waring went 1 for 4.
  • Caleb Joseph went 1 for 3 with a walk.
  • Tyler Henson went 1 for 4 with a run, a double and 2 strikeouts.
  • Pedro Florimon wen 0 for 3.
  • Tim Bascom pitched 6 shutout innings, allowing 5 hits. He collected 2 strikeouts.

Analysis: Joseph is now batting .625 with 3 walks and no strikeouts. There will be a new bi-weekly feature on the blog called “Prospect Stock Market”. It will feature prospects whose stocks have both dropped and gone up.

Delmarva 11, Greensboro 6 – Box Score

  • Tyler Kelly went 3 for 6 with a run and 4 RBI.
  • Justin Dalles went 2 for 3 with 3 runs, a 2B, 2 walks and a strikeout.
  • Garabez Rosa went 3 for 4 with 1 run, 2 2B, 3 RBI and a walk.
  • Tony Butler pitched 4 innings, allowing 2 hits and 4 runs (0 ER). He walked 3 batters and struck out 5.

Analysis: Many people questioned Dalles’ bat when he was drafted, but most of the players I talked to at spring training really think he can hit. And he has so far this season. Rosa took a walk!

Bowie Baysox Harrisburg Senators Home 7:05 PM Zach Britton
