The MiLB season is so close, who’s excited? This will be my first year with the site during the season so I wanted to give you a little heads up on what type of coverage you can expect.

Every day of the season I’ll post scores from the previous day with the top performers in each of those games. I’ll also include a link to the box score. It will look something like this:

Norfolk Tides 14, Durham Bulls 0

  • Brandon Erbe pitched a perfect game and registered 27 strikeouts, a new minor league record.
  • Josh Bell hit a grand slam and went 4 for 4 on the night, finishing with 7 RBI, HR, 2B and 3 runs.
  • Brandon Snyder also hit a grand slam and finished the night 1 for 1 with 4 RBI, 1 run and 3 BB.

You’ll see one of these score updates posted every morning at 8:30 AM ET. Obviously there will be one for the other teams and not just the Tides…you get the idea. These score posts will also include various links to other websites that talk about the O’s prospects.

Every Sunday I’ll announce the players of the week which will be one hitter and one pitcher. We’ll keep tabs throughout the season and see which player can rack up the most awards.

I’ll be at 2-3 Frederick Keys and Bowie Baysox games per week. You can expect tons of pictures and video from those games. I should be taking a road trip to Norfolk, maybe two. It’s likely that I’ll get to see most of those guys in Baltimore anyway. I should attend around 5-10 Shorebirds games and 5-10 IronBirds games.

Along with the score posts you can expect 3-4 posts per week that include: scouting reports, interviews, and anything else that I feel like writing about.

If there is anything else you’d like to see during the season, or even something you’d like me to make a quick post about before the season starts, feel free to drop it in the comments.

Now we have to wait out the last few days until the season starts!
